Uncoilers
Voss offers a wide variety of uncoilers to hold your material coil and safely uncoil the material strip during production. With uncoilers ranging from small to large, and single to double spindle, Voss can suit all your production needs.
The UNC-30 series is the Voss standard uncoiler. These are simple, robust designs that suit the individual needs of the machinery they are sold with. The UNC-30 uncoilers are loop controlled, with a DC motor using a dancer arm-controlled potentiometer to regulate the uncoiling speed. These are equipped with tight web sensing, whereas the uncoiler will send an e-stop signal to the machine to stop the process once a tight web is sensed.
The UNC-60 series is the Voss standard uncoiler for the FM-335 machine. This is a large capacity uncoiler used for coils up to 19.69 in [500mm] wide, 59.06 in [1500mm] in diameter, and 2204.62 lb [1000kg] in weight. This unit is equipped with both a soft stop and a hard stop tight web sensor; the machine will send either a controlled stop or an e-stop signal to the machine to stop the process once a tight web is sensed.
The DSUNC-30 series is a special double spindle Uncoiler mainly used for handling one narrow strip and one wide strip for Brass Edge laminated Fins. These are simple, robust designs that suit the individual needs of the machinery they are sold with. There are two spindles, over and under, to handle the coils while maintaining a small floor footprint. The DSUNC-60 series is a special double spindle Uncoiler. This double spindle uncoiler has the same options as the UNC-60 with the exception that there are two spindles, one for current production use, and one for prestaging the next coil to be used. This allows one coil to be staged as the other is being used. The unit swivels by hand 180 degrees and locks it in once in position. Guarding keeps the operator away from the active coil during loading and unloading of the next coil. There are two spindles, over and under, to handle the coils while maintaining a small floor footprint. The DSUNC-60 uncoilers are loop controlled, with either a DC motor using a dancer arm-controlled potentiometer or electrically controlled with a touchless sensor, to regulate the uncoiling speed. Diameter sensing can also be added to sense the use on coils that are larger in diameter. These units are normally designed for specific applications based on the parameters below.
Slitters
Voss offers multiple options for slitting your stock size material to your production needed width. This allows for prototyping new strip sizes without having to order a complete run of material from the mill.
The SL-300 is used for slitting down stock sizes to your material width needs. Slitting stock can be beneficial in a couple of ways. One is to allow prototyping of new strip sizes without having to order a complete run of material from the mill. The other way is to slit just what you need, such as inline slitting. This allows you to slit and use the material in line with your fin machine, so no waste is created by guessing how much to slit, then either run out or have to slit more material.

Fin Handling
Fin Catchers are accessories for Voss fin machines that are used to catch the cut fins and stack them into a pile where an operator can remove them.
The FC-135 is an accessory to any Voss 135 fin machine and is used to catch the cut fins and stack them into a pile where an operator can remove them. It is pneumatically operated and will index downward as the fins pile up on the tray. The machine is universal and can be used in any application where parts are being cut and need stacking or collecting for subsequent operations.

The Boom Assembly consists of two aluminum rails that guide the fin out of the machine. Fastened to the bottom is a retractable shelf that is triggered to open once the fin is cut, dropping the fin onto a fin catcher. These can be used on different machines where a strip of material (fin or plate) is being fed out of the machine and cut to length. Once cut, the part drops onto a shelf, fin catcher, or into a box for collection. The controls are simple, getting a signal from the cutoff, then opening the retractable shelf, timer for open duration, and close again ready for the next part.
Hemming
Rotary Hemmers are used for adding a hemmed edge on a flat plate type fin. Voss offers two size Rotary Hemming Units that can be used in tandem with our Voss fin machines.
Flat Fin Assembly Fixtures
These fixtures are used for assembling flat fin cores in a range of sizes for all your assembly needs. The key to building large industrial cores is to have a precision table to hold the fins while pushing the tubes into the fins. These tables are made using a strong steel frame, with adjustable corner posts and precision aluminum plates cut to your desired fin density.

These are used both prior to and after the core is baked to ensure the fins are straight and spaced correctly after assembly. This is the final touch on the core to make the fins look exactly spaced and straight. They are made from aluminum blocks, machined to the FPI required. A comfortable handle is attached for easy operation
These are the first tool used in assembly, the line up bar is pushed through the first tube slot, aligning all the fins so a tube can be pushed. A necessity for building tube and fin cores. They are made from spring steel, and sized to your tube slot so alignment can be achieved.
These are used for pushing the tube into the core assembly. This is an important tool used by the operator. Sized for your tube, and with a comfortable handle, they are easy to use. They are made up of an aluminum handle and a spring steel sword blade sized for your tube. available in lengths from 12” to 72”
A roller that is designed to roll over the tube ends and flare out the tube. The operator simply sets the tool onto the tube, and rolls it across the core while pushing downwards, this flares the end of each tube. They are made from hardened tool steel, machined exactly to your tube size and pitch. the steel handle is mounted into the roller bushing for ease of operation.
