The SL-500 is used for slitting down stock sizes to your material width needs. Slitting stock can be beneficial in a couple of ways. One is to allow prototyping of new strip sizes without having to order a complete run of material from the mill. The other way is to slit just what you need, such as inline slitting. This allows you to slit and use the material in line with your fin machine, so no waste is created by guessing how much to slit, then either run out or have to slit more material.
